Obedience is the outward manifestation of our submission to God and to authorities. Submission is not a weakness. It is an inner strength to conquer pride and self-will. As we fill our hearts with the promises of God, out of gratitude obedience will flow naturally from the submissive heart towards compliance. As James instructed us to submit ourselves to God first before we resist the devil.
Our authority over the enemy flows from our humility in yielding to the will of God. We rise to our spiritual authority because true spiritual authority is a delegated authority flowing from the throne of our loving Abba Father through the shed blood of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
